Research Interests
My main research interests are in developing novel acqusition and analysis methods for biomedical imaging, primarily for MRI, with the goal of improving our understanding of brain structure and function. I am undertaking my DPhil research in the group of Prof. Karla Miller.
Research Projects within the DTC
First rotation project (Apr - Jul 2019) in the group of Dr. Saad Jbabdi, working on macaque connectome modelling using deep learning techniques. The short project will focus on the automated detection of labelled neurons using tracing data from one of the largest tracer databases available. The project report can be found here.
Second rotation project (Jul - Oct 2019) in the group of Prof. Karla Miller, focusing on the translation of human MR acquisition techniques used as part of the UK Biobank protocols to rodent models, with the long-term aim of imaging rodent knock-outs of genetic hits identified from the Biobank brain imaging study to explore whether similar MRI-based phenotypes can be identified, and if so what the microstructural correlates of those phenotypes are.
